*products of Blue and White batik in new patterns from "Simone Buys"

Simone with her blue & white batik bed cover
Photo by my friend,Som and styling by me

Simone is a Belgian friend of mine...we've known each other for more than 5 years. We have remained close friends with a common interest in handicraft aesthetics.

I've known her since 2004 when she started her original product range in the style of Hmong pattern batik was. To produce these designs Simone drew inspiration from all her life experiences. including her great efforts into experimental processes and particularly her main job as buyer of handicrafts for European and Japanese customers..the resulting collection was named “The Butterfly People Gallery”

I'm so proud of her latest collection...and i love her creation of new distintive patterns, more contemporary and a progression from her firs
t collection of Hmong patterns ...
different sizes of blue & white batik cushions, hand print batik silk scarves, bags and necklaces with Hmong pattern embroideries...they are my selective designs for 11 treasure

About Simone:
1995, in eastern Kenya, East Africa ; she worked with a local woman Artisan and leader to develop an enterprise exporting woven sisal and banana fiber baskets providing employment to over 500 women. Since her Kenyan experience, Simone has worked as a consultant in South Africa, Ethiopia and Morocco.
2004,She is now enthralled by the fabrics, jewelry and the cultures of East Asia where she settled. Simone is based in the Northern city of Chiang Mai Thailand, She pursues there her Hmong Hill Tribe People batik and embroidery projects

*stylish rattan bags,made in Indonesia

master of wicker who created new set of mannequins for me

As you've seen with my previous collection of products and decoration props.... i've been working with many artisans in thailand and finally end up with finished products made by my talented sewing makers

I like anything made by hand and especially hand woven things made of natural fibre ...there is one village in Chiangmai specialising in wicker baskets and I worked with a wicker master for special design of mannequins

My original idea for the next step was to create fine rattan clutch bags of a more modern design for luxury purpose, but difficult to find anyone who'd love to produce my first prototype, however I stumbled upon a big factory in Indonesia producing a variety of rattan bags designs and mostly for export.... their production seems to be more advanced than in Thailand as they have better quality of natural fiber...and they also do production for well known fashion brands of bags like Kate Spade

This collection of sophisticated rattan bags is 100 % imported...I'm not too nationalistic, putting more emphasis on original design... if they produce quality and fine products, i'd love to support them and proud to recommend them to my customers...now available in our shop, one of a kind with unique design

*my latest designs...old whiskey in a new bottle

my friend from Belgium bought one of blouses collection
for her niece...Hmong embroideries is very simiar to folk art of East Europe

I always say there is nothing totally new in this world...when people get inspiration from others and incorporate it into their own style, it becomes a new interpretation.
And trends such as in fashion nowadays have a tendency to return after a ten years cycle...
This set of designs is inspired by colorful hand embroideries i found at a local hill tribe market... it's surprisingly similar to the embroidery styles i've seen in Mexico or Guatemala... the way indigenous people dress, even on different sides of the world... they share the same aesthetic taste.
The world becomes smaller when you can have a similar look to those of different ethnicity and culture.

*the old master pieces

my design is recognizable by a fusion of strong colour combinations mixed with cultural influences...this collection was designed 2 years ago and i think it's representative of my distinct style.
I can say these are limited editions...because i have limited the selection of materials and been eager to produce new designs for subsequent collections..only a couple of pieces left in stock
believe me... it's worth it to own or collect one of them!
